Safari :: Week of November 10

MONTHLY FOCUS: I can give thanks to God.
MEMORY VERSE: “Always give thanks to God.” Ephesians 5:20 (NCV)
BIBLE STORY: Ten Lepers | Luke 17:11-19

This week we sang a song to remind us that we can give thanks to God. Sing the song with your toddler at home!

If You’re Thankful and You Know It (to the tune of “If You’re Happy and You Know It”)

If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands! (clap, clap)
If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands! (clap, clap)
If you’re thankful and you know it,
Give thanks and surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it, clap your hands! (clap, clap)

If you’re thankful and you know it, stomp your feet! (stomp, stomp)
If you’re thankful and you know it, stomp your feet! (stomp, stomp)
If you’re thankful and you know it,
Give thanks and surely show it.
I can trust God. Yes I can! (stomp, stomp)

If you’re thankful and you know it, shout “Hooray!” (Say, “Hooray!”)
If you’re thankful and you know it, shout “Hooray!” (Say, “Hooray!”)
If you’re thankful and you know it,
Give thanks and surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it, shout “Hooray!” (Say, “Hooray!”)

You can also put all three together for a fourth verse. (clap, clap, stomp, stomp, “Hooray!”)

Repeat a few times, or as long as your toddler is interested. Say, “You did a wonderful job singing! God has done so many great things for us and we should always give thanks to Him! Who can give thanks to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can give thanks to God!”
