Bible Story: Luke 2:1-7 | Joseph Goes To Bethlehem
Main Point: I can have joy when things don’t go my way!
Memory Verse: “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Give thanks no matter what happens.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18a
The chefs at Sprinkle and Spice and Everything Nice bakery are busier than ever baking cookies to fill all the holiday orders. See what happened in the kitchen this past weekend and if they were able to keep their joy while baking.
Chef Spice learned he can have joy even when things don’t go his way! Things didn’t go as Joseph planned; he was scared to take Mary home as his wife and there was no room in the inn, but he trusted God and chose to have joy!
Just like Joseph and his family chose to have joy, Chef Spice decided to have joy and bake some delicious Chocolate Chunk Snowballs with Pastry Chef!
Cookie of the Day Recipe Card
Children collected another Cookie of the Day recipe card to put in their Sprinkle Family Recipe Book. This weekend’s Cookie of the Day was the Chocolate Chunk Snowball. Make Chocolate Chunk Snowballs this week with your family and send us a picture of your own chefs! Connect with eKidz through Twitter (@eKidz) or Instagram (@elevationeKidz).
Each weekend as we help the chefs in the kitchen we will learn how we can have joy through the story of Jesus’ birth. God’s Word says:
Always be joyful. (point to smiling face)
Never stop praying. (prayer hands)
Give thanks (point up)
no matter what happens. (spread arms wide)
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18a (NIrV)
We can have joy in all we do, whether we are baking Christmas cookies, cleaning our room, or serving others. Join us in helping your child learn this verse. Children can recite this verse on Christmas Eve to earn their own Chef Sprinkle chef’s hat.
