Calling Sticks and Stones | Week 4 #Quest

Bible Story: David Take’s Saul’s Gear | 1 Samuel 26:1-25
Main Point: I Am Obedient!
Memory Verse: “This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid.” Joshua 1:9a
Lesson Overview:

During our latest episode of Calling Sticks and Stones, we learned how to make party puppets! Quest kids learned more about how to embrace God’s calling on our lives through obedience, just like David!

Quest children learned “I Am Obedient!” from the Bible story about David obeying God’s command to not hurt King Saul. The king was angry at David and was chasing him for no reason! Late one night, David entered King Saul’s camp while he was sleeping and could have hurt the king. But God told David not to hurt the king and that it would not be the right thing to do. So David took some of King Saul’s armor as proof that he was close enough to hurt the king, but didn’t! Just like David obeyed God, children learned that they can be obedient, too!

January Memory Verse
This upcoming weekend in Quest, all children will have the opportunity to say our memory verse for a special prize. Set aside some time this week to practice Joshua 1:9a with your child!

“This is my command (hold hands out like a book)
be strong (make muscles)
and courageous! (hands on hip like a superhero)
Do not (cross hands on top of each other)
be afraid. (cover eyes)”
Joshua 1:9a
