Main Point: Jesus is my leader!
Memory Verse: Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith. – Hebrews 13:7

Lesson Overview
It’s time to pack your bags and head to camp for a camping adventure! We’ll learn how we can all be leaders who set an example for others in everything we say and do. From going on a bear hunt to finding our friend Brownie Bear, receiving camp mail from our favorite Quest animals, to meeting around the campfire to hear the BEST stories from God’s word, you’ll WANNASTAY at camp all summer long!

In our first weekend at camp, we heard a campfire Bible story from Brownie Bear and learned “Jesus is my leader!” from the story of how Jesus chose his helpers, called disciples.

We are partnering with Newspring Church and using their Camp Wannstay video curriculum. To learn more about KidSpring, visit https://newspring.cc/kidspring.

We also received camp mail from one of our favorite Quest Animals – Blue Beaver!

Make sure your child wears BLUE this weekend to Quest to celebrate Blue Beaver Day at Camp Wannastay!

Camp Canteen
Join us in helping your child learn Hebrews 13:7, our camp memory verse. Children can recite this verse each week during Camp Wannastay to collect a prize from the Camp Canteen.

Remember your leaders (point to head and say “bing”)
who taught you the word of God. (open hands like a book)
Think of all the good (two thumbs up)
that has come from their lives, (spread arms wide)
and follow the example (cup hands around mouth while whispering)
of their faith. (shout and pump fist in the air)

When we read the Bible, we can use this verse to help us be like the leaders we learn about. After church each week, ask these three questions to review what your child learned:

  1. Who is the leader you learned about today?
  2. What good things did he or she do?
  3. How can you be a leader like him or her?
