Bible Story: Judges 4:1-16, 5:4, 20-21 | Deborah Helps God’s People
Main Point: Leaders let others go first!
Memory Verse: “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.” Hebrews 13:7
We are partnering with Newspring Church and using their Camp Wannstay video curriculum. To learn more about KidSpring, visit https://newspring.cc/kidspring.
This past weekend at camp we continued learning about Deborah and how she was a leader who let others go first. Whether it’s giving up the last chocolate cupcake or letting a sibling choose the movie to watch, it’s hard to let others go first! But your child can be a leader just like Deborah!
This week, we received a camp postcard from our friend Red Rabbit. Make sure your child wears RED and joins us in Quest this weekend to celebrate Red Rabbit Day!
Camp Canteen
Join us in helping your child learn Hebrews 13:7, our camp memory verse. Children can recite this verse each week during Camp Wannastay to collect a prize from the Camp Canteen.
Remember your leaders (point to head and say “bing”)
who taught you the word of God. (open hands like a book)
Think of all the good (two thumbs up)
that has come from their lives, (spread arms wide)
and follow the example (cup hands around mouth while whispering)
of their faith. (shout and pump fist in the air)
When we read the Bible, we can use this verse to help us be like the leaders we learn about. Practice your verse with your camper then ask your child to Remember, Think, and Follow to review what we learned this weekend:
- Remember: Who was the leader you learned about at Camp Wannastay this week?
- Think: Did Deborah let others go last or first to help win the battle?
- Follow: Can you be a leader like Deborah and let others go first?
