Bible Story: Acts 6:1-7 | Food For Widows
Main Point: Leaders help!
Memory Verse: “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.” Hebrews 13:7
We had so much fun this week learning how leaders help and just in time for LOVE WEEK! Love Week is a special time every year where our church shows love for our communities by serving and helping a lot of people.
One way we can be leaders who help is by collecting books for kids during Love Week! Join us as we partner with Promising Pages to collect books and eliminate illiteracy.
Collect new or gently used books from around your house. Bring your collected books back to eKidz next weekend for your service to be counted! Every child who participates will receive a Love Week Band.
We are partnering with Newspring Church and using their Camp Wannstay video curriculum. To learn more about KidSpring, visit https://newspring.cc/kidspring.
We can set a good example by helping others, just like the people in our Bible story were leaders because they helped the women get food.
This week, we received a camp postcard from our friend White Warthog. Make sure your child wears WHITE and joins us in Quest this weekend to celebrate White Warthog Day! We can’t wait to see you there!
Camp Canteen
Join us in helping your child learn Hebrews 13:7, our camp memory verse. Children can recite this verse each week during Camp Wannastay to collect a prize from the Camp Canteen.
Remember your leaders (point to head and say “bing”)
who taught you the word of God. (open hands like a book)
Think of all the good (two thumbs up)
that has come from their lives, (spread arms wide)
and follow the example (cup hands around mouth while whispering)
of their faith. (shout and pump fist in the air)
Learning this verse helps us learn how to be better leaders, like those in the Bible stories we read each week. Practice your verse with your camper then ask your child to Remember, Think, and Follow to review what we learned this weekend:
- Remember: Who were the leaders you learned about at Camp Wannastay? (Jesus’ friends)
- Think: How did Jesus’ friends help the widows? (Found seven helpers to be leaders who could feed the widows.)
- Follow: How can you be a leader like Jesus’ friends? (By helping.)
