Bible Story: Nehemiah 1-3; 4: 1-6; 6:15-16; 12:27; 42 | Nehemiah Rebuilds The Walls
Main Point: Leaders do what’s right!
Memory Verse: “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.” Hebrews 13:7
We had so much fun celebrating White Warthog day together at Camp Wannastay! This week, our friend Brownie Bear taught us about a man named Nehemiah. After hearing about the walls of his hometown being torn down, Nehemiah returned to fix the walls with the people in his hometown. Nehemiah was a leader because he did what was right, and we can be a leader like Nehemiah, too! We can do what is right by sharing toys, hold open doors for people, or doing chores without complaining.
We are partnering with Newspring Church and using their Camp Wannstay video curriculum. To learn more about KidSpring, visit https://newspring.cc/kidspring.
We can be a leader to our friends, family, and others by doing what is right. Look for ways to do what is right every day!
This week, we received camp mail from our friend White Warthog about how was a leader by doing what was right.
Join us in helping your child learn Hebrews 13:7, our camp memory verse. Children can recite this verse each week during Camp Wannastay to collect a prize from the Camp Canteen.
Remember your leaders (point to head and say “bing”)
who taught you the word of God. (open hands like a book)
Think of all the good (two thumbs up)
that has come from their lives, (spread arms wide)
and follow the example (cup hands around mouth while whispering)
of their faith. (shout and pump fist in the air)
Learning this verse helps us learn how to be better leaders, like those in the Bible stories we read each week. Practice your verse with your camper then ask your child to Remember, Think, and Follow to review what we learned this weekend:
- Remember: Who were the leaders you learned about at Camp Wannastay? (Nehemiah)
- Think: How did Nehemiah do what’s right? (He fixed the walls.)
- Follow: How can you be a leader like Nehemiah? (help others, do what’s right)
