eKidz at Home :: Week of July 12

This week, we’re learning that God wants to use our questions to help us grow in our faith during eKidz Online.  We’ll also check-in with Ollie at the Wonder! Clubhouse for this week’s Quest lesson, and our Safari toddlers will get to sing a fun song to help them remember that they can love like Jesus!

Use the resources below to help your child grow in their faith this week. For more information about eKidz Online and our weekly broadcast times, visit our eKidz Online YouTube page.

God is wise and can handle our questions.    Proverbs 25:16

As a family, discuss a few questions together after your child watches this week’s episode.

Question #1: Is it possible to have too much of a good thing? Read Proverbs 25:16. This verse shows us the importance of having limits in place, or knowing when to stop. What are some of the limits in place in your life right now? What are some areas in your life where you might need to set some better limits?

Question #2: Read Proverbs 25:16. This verse shows us the importance of having limits in place, or knowing when to stop. What are some of the limits in place in your life right now? What are some areas in your life where you might need to set some better limits?

Question #3: When you’re a kid, most of your limits are set by other people, like your parents, teachers, or coaches. Why is it wise to let an adult help you set limits? Who are some adults who could help you set wise limits for yourself?

Kid Challenge of the Week

Write down three questions you have about God, Jesus, or the Bible, and find someone to ask those questions.

It’s okay to have questions about God, and we can always take our questions directly to God. While some of our questions are answered in the Bible, other questions aren’t as clear. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t ask our questions. We should always bring our questions to God because He wants to use them to help us grow in our faith.

I spy someone who made everything! ● Paul Teaches in Athens I Acts 17:16-34

This month we’ll teach our preschoolers the incredible truth, I can believe in Jesus. This truth is so powerful, and we want them to believe Jesus is real and know that He loves them no matter what. Jesus is who He said He is, and He wants to be their friend forever. That’s the truth friends. You better believe it.

As a family, watch this week’s video and then discuss a few questions together.

Question #1: Today’s story was about the time a man taught some people in Athens. Was his name Paul or Philip? (Paul)

Question #2: Who did Paul teach the people about? (God)

Question #3: Did Paul teach them that God made everything? (yes)

Family Activity: Creation Collage

WHAT YOU NEED: a large piece of paper, crayons, magazines, scissors, glue sticks

WHAT YOU DO:
– Before the Activity: Place the paper, crayons, and glue sticks on the table. Cut out several pictures of things that God made from the magazines and place them on the table.
– During the Activity:
Encourage your child to draw pictures of what God has made (e.g., plants, animals, people, etc.) and glue magazine pictures onto the butcher paper to create a collage.

WHAT YOU SAY:
– Before the Activity: “Let’s make a collage of what God made. A collage is one big picture that’s made out of smaller pictures and drawings. You can choose a picture or two to glue to the page, or use the crayons to draw your own!”
– After the Activity: “I spy so many things God made! I spy (point to the collage and name things you spy that God made). Paul told the people in Athens that God made the world and all its people — including you! Paul told the people about Jesus so they could believe in Him. We can believe in Jesus, too! Tell me, who can believe in Jesus?” (I can believe in Jesus.)

This month, we’re teaching toddlers that we can love like Jesus. We love others by being kind with our words and actions. We want toddlers to grow up knowing that when they love like Jesus, they can point others to Him and make a big difference in their life!
