Lesson Overview
Using truth from God’s Word, Beaker and Agent Lou True have helped us BUST our fear of the dark and even helped our Monster friend BeBo bust his fear of the dark, too!

This weekend, our friend MiMi Monster was afraid of a thunderstorm. The rain, thunder and lightening made her so afraid! Agent Lou True helped MiMi Monster by reading a story from God’s Word, the Bible! He read about a time when Jesus and his friend were sailing on a boat together. After teaching all day, Jesus laid down for a nap in the boat. During his nap, the wind began to blow hard and the waves splashed so hard. Jesus’ friends woke him up to help save them from the storm, and Jesus calmed the wind and waters. After reading the Bible story, MiMi Monster learned she can trust Jesus when she’s afraid!

To help our FearBuster friends bust their fears, Quest children received a FearBusted Box to collect truths from God’s word to know what to do when they are scared. Each weekend children will collect another truth to put in their FearBusted Box!

In this week’s truth bag was a lightening bolt! Use the truth card to start a discussion with your child about their fears and to review the Bible story and main point.

Memory Verse
Our memory verse during FearBusters teaches us that God can free us from all our fears.

I prayed (pretend to pray)
to the Lord (point up),
and He answered me. (cup hand to ear)
He freed me (wave arms and smile)

Each weekend children can recite the memory verse for a ROAR-some monster prize. Work with your child to learn this verse so they can remember God helps us BUST our fears!
