During New Rules of Resolution, we learned how to change the way we change. A couple of weeks ago, our Campus Pastors & Ministry Leaders preached at all of our campuses on how to train in godliness (I had the privilege of being at our Providence campus and had a great time!).
One of the things that we talked about was prayer. It’s so important that we start to instill the values of training (not trying) at a young age so I wanted to share the best way that I have found to teach kids how to pray.
A ‘Handy’ Way To Pray
Thumb (people who are close to you) These are your family & friends. Thank God for your parents, siblings, & friends and ask for HIs protection around them.
Pointer (people who point the way) These are leaders in your life, such as your teachers and pastors. Thank God for them and ask Him to help them in all that they do.
Tall Finger (people in authority) Ask God to give wisdom to those that lead our nation and our world.
Ring Finger (people who are weak) This is your weakest finger. We should always remember to pray for those who are sick, hurting and in need.
Little Finger (your own needs) Pray that you will grow like Jesus (Luke 2:52). God wants to bless and care for us.
