Motion :: Week of January 25

When we face choices we don’t feel prepared to make, God’s wisdom is already available to us. He will always help us make right choices when we slow down, ask for His help, and seek out the wisdom He’s given us in His Word.

This week, we tuned into the Loop Show and took a look at Proverbs 25:16, to learn that it’s always wise to know your limits — too much of a good thing can be foolish!

Honey is sweet and delicious, and when it comes to different types of sugar, it’s even relatively healthy! However, too much honey will make you sick. Our bodies aren’t made to process that much sugar easily.

God wants us to know that it’s possible to have too much of something, even if it’s a good thing. We have to recognize and respect healthy limits. This doesn’t just apply to what we eat. It’s also important to consider how it affects the way we spend our time. Too much reading can be negative if it keeps you from spending time with real friends. Too much time in front of a screen can be negative if it keeps you from getting exercise. Too much of anything, even a good thing, isn’t wise!

At bedtime this week, read Proverbs 25:16 and pray together. Pray your child will walk in wisdom every day of their lives. Ask God to help them set a great example for everyone around them to follow.
