Motion :: Week of September 23

Main Point: God says I’m forgiven.
Bible Story: Peter: The Rock | Luke 22 & Acts 2

No matter how old we are, we each have a common enemy – ourselves. How do kids focus on growing a relationship with God when their own negative thoughts of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement are speaking so loudly in their lives? Each week during the Rise Above series kids will learn how to use God’s Word to rise above the chatter in their lives and to hear God’s voice above all the others.

We’ll follow a pretty average kid named Daniel as he encounters various voices in his life and see how he learns to rise above them.

During eGroup we got in the ring with fear as Peter showed us how to fight against the voices that tell us we aren’t good enough.

Peter struggled with feeling condemnation – the feeling that he wasn’t good enough because of the things he thought and did. But Jesus showed Peter that His forgiveness was greater than any of the wrong things Peter did. Even though Peter made a mistake and chose not to stand by Jesus when Jesus was suffering, Jesus forgave Peter and used Peter to do great things in the early Church!

The Bring It! Challenge
We want kids to Bring It! to church. The Bring It! Challenge encourages Motion kids to bring themselves, their Bible, and scripture they’ve learned to Motion. Not only can kids be rewarded for bringing it, but the Bring It! Challenge is a fun way to grow and learn more about God and how He wants us to live.

During Rise Above, kids can earn fun prizes each week. Kids have to FIND any one of our series verses in their Bible and RECITE it from memory!
