Monthly Focus: Who can do what God wants you to do? (I can do what God wants me to do.)
Bible Story: Jesus Teaches at the Temple | Luke 2:41-50
Main Point: I can tell others about God.
Memory Verse: “God made us to do good works.” Ephesians 2:10 (NCV)
Kids Rock! This summer we’ll learn about people in the Bible who did amazing things while they were still kids. They rocked because they did what God told them to do, and our children can obey God and do great things, too!
In this week’s lesson, Mary and Joseph find 12-year-old Jesus sitting in the temple talking with the religious leaders.
Jesus may have only been 12 years old, but He was teaching the Temple leaders about God! He was there teaching the experts at the Temple because that’s what God wanted Him to do. Kids rock because God made them to tell others about God, too. That is something kids can do that God wants them to do!
June Memory Verse
This month our Bible verse says our God made us to do good things. Kids don’t have to wait until they’re grown up to do what God wants them to do; them can start now!
Children can recite the verse every week in June to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.
God made (point both hands up)
us to do (point to yourself)
good works. (thumbs up)
Ephesians 2:10, NCV (open hands like a book)
Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.
