Monthly Focus: Who is always with you? (God is always with you.)
Bible Story: Elijah and the Fire ● 1 Kings 18:1-39
Main Point: When God is with me, I can be brave.
Memory Verse: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.” Deuteronomy 31:6, NIV
We can do super things when we trust that God is always with us and do things His way. It’s not about what WE can do but about what GOD can do. Because God is always with us, we can be super!
In this week’s lesson, God is with Elijah.

King Ahab and the rest of the Israelites were all against Elijah, so it seemed like Elijah was completely alone. That can feel scary! But Elijah could be brave that day because he wasn’t really alone—God was with Him! And He is with us, too!
September Memory Verse
This month our Bible verse tells us we don’t need to be afraid. We can be strong and courageous because God is always with us!
Children can recite the verse every week in September to earn a special memory verse card. When your child receives a memory verse card celebrate with them on learning their verse and put the card on their Quest poster.
“Be strong (cross left arm over chest)
and courageous. (cross both arms over chest)
Do not be afraid (roll arms then karate chop)
for the Lord (point left finger up)
your God (point both fingers up)
goes with you.” (fists on hips)
Deuteronomy 31:6 (open hands like a book)
Practice this verse together and encourage your child to recite it to their eGroup Leader this week in Quest.
