February Memory Verse: II Corinthians 10:5b, “And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Bible Story: Joshua 6:1-20
Main Point: When it’s tough, God’s enough.
It’s the final week of Rise Above and our friend Daniel faces a challenge greater than any he has up to this point. Watch it now:
When Daniel encountered all four negative voices at once, he drew on the encouraging words he’d heard in the past in order to rise above them. He was then able to help another classmate who faced the same issue.
As we move out of this Rise Above series, the most important thing you can remind your kids of is that they will never completely eliminate the negative voice of the chatterbox but they can continually fill their minds with God’s truth and rise above negative thoughts.
Lastly, Pastor Steven mentioned in his sermon this weekend that as a parent, one of our most important roles is to do our best to give our children plenty of ammunition of God’s truth. We can do that by teaching our kids God’s Word, getting them in church regularly, and speaking life over them. That way, whenever they encounter the lies of our enemy, they can stand on the firm foundation of God’s Word.
