MEMORY VERSE: “Teach me Your way, O Lord.” Psalm 27:11a (NASB)
BIBLE STORY: Jonah and the Big Fish I Jonah 1:1 – 3:10
This month we are learning, “I can go God’s way!” It’s important to trust God and follow Him because His way is the right way, every single time!
We will learn the story, “Jonah and the Big Fish” in Jonah 1:1 – 3:10. When God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah didn’t want to obey at first, but when Jonah decided to go God’s way, God forgave them and he was able to talk to the people there about God. Just like Jonah, it’s important that we remember God’s way is always the right way! There are different ways we can choose to go, but God wants us to trust and follow Him because He knows what’s best. We can go God’s way!
We made a Bible story mat to help us remember God’s Word helps me. Place the Meal Time Bible Story Mat at the table where your toddler eats. Before each meal, point to the place mat and review the Bible story with your toddler:
- Who is the man in the picture who was swallowed by the big fish? (Jonah)
- After Jonah was swallowed by the big fish, which way did Jonah decide to go? (God’s way.)
Say, “When God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah didn’t want to obey at first, but when Jonah decided to go God’s way, he was able to talk to the people there and God forgave them! God wants us to trust and follow Him because He knows what’s best. We can go God’s way! Say, “Who can go God’s way?” Encourage you toddler to say, “I can go God’s way!”
