WE’RE LEARNING… God helps me.
MEMORY VERSE: “God is my helper.” Psalm 54:4a (CSB)
BIBLE STORY: The Mean Giant I Luke 2:1-7

Grab a blanket and play a fun game with your toddler to help them remember God helps me!

Say, “Pretend your mom or dad asks you to pick up your toys, but you want to keep playing. If you know God can help you make the right choice, hold up the blanket as high as you can. (Lead your toddler in holding the blanket up in the air.) Great job! God can help you make right choices!”

Say, “Let’s pretend you’re playing with your friends and it’s hard to share your toys. If you know God can help you share, spin in a circle while holding the blanket. (Lead your toddler in spinning in a circle while holding the blanket.) Great job! God can help you share with others!”

Say, “Let’s pretend it’s time for bed, but you’re scared of the dark. If you know God can help you be brave, shake the blanket! (Lead your toddler in shaking the blanket.) Great job! God can help you be brave when you’re scared!”

Say, “Let’s pretend you want a turn on the swing at the playground, but you have to wait your turn. If you know God can help you wait, hold up the blanket as high as you can and hide underneath it! (Lead you toddler in holding up the blanket and hiding underneath it.) Great job! God can help you wait!”

Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested. After the activity say, “God will always be there to help us, no matter what. When you’re scared, tired, or you need helping making the right choice, God can help you! Who helps me?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God helps me!”
