BIBLE STORY: Jesus Calms the Storm I Matthew 8:23-27

This week during the worship experience we used a play parachute to make a storm just the storm in our Bible story, Jesus Calms the Storm. Complete this same activity at home without a parachute by waving your arms and legs around and moving your body to make a storm.

Parachute Storm Game [Game Activity]

Lay the parachute out and gather your toddler around it. Say, “We are going to shake the parachute like there is a storm, just like in our Bible story.” Encourage your toddler to shake the parachute.

While shaking the parachute say, “I need Jesus.” Repeat the activity while shaking the parachute at different speeds and heights. (fast, slow, up high, down low) Repeat several times.

Remember to encourage your toddler to say, “I need Jesus” while shaking the parachute.

Say, “Jesus took care of the disciples on the boat during the storm because they needed Him. Jesus will take care of us when we need Him, too. Jesus is there when we need Him.”
