BIBLE STORY: Jesus and the Children I Luke 18:15-17

This month we’re learning, “Jesus loves me.” We are important to Jesus and He loves us so much!

We will learn the story, “Jesus and the Children,” in Luke 18:15-17. When people brought their children to see Jesus, the disciples tried to stop them. Jesus told them, “Let the little children come to me.” (Luke 18:16) Jesus wanted everyone to know that children are important to God. Jesus showed the children how much He loved them and He wants us to know how much He loves us, too! We are important to Him and He will always love us, no matter what.

We made a Bible Story Meal Time Mat to help us remember Jesus loves us. Place the Bible Story Meal Time Mat at the table where your toddler eats. Before each meal, point to the place mat and review the Bible story with your toddler:

• Who do you see in the picture? (Jesus and the children)
• Who did Jesus show love to? (the children)

Say, “Jesus showed the children how much He loved them. Jesus wants us to know how much He loves us, too! Who loves you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “Jesus loves me.”
