MONTHLY FOCUS: God’s Word helps me.
MEMORY VERSE: “I have hidden your word in my heart.” Psalm 119:11 (NIV)
BIBLE STORY: King David Wrote the Psalms | Psalm 119:11
This month we are learning, “God’s Word helps me.” When we read and learn God’s Word, we are hiding it in our hearts and it will help us live for God every day!
We will hear the story, “King David Wrote the Psalms,” and learn what King David wrote in Psalm 119:11. King David knew that if he learned God’s words and kept it close to his heart, then they would always help him. God’s Word will always help us, too!
God gave us the Bible, which has His words in it. When we read and learn God’s Word, we will remember what it says and it will help us live for God and make right choices every day. God’s Word helps us!
We made a Bible story mat to help us remember God’s Word helps us. Place the Meal Time Bible Story Mat at the table where your toddler eats. Before each meal, point to the place mat and review the Bible story with your toddler:
- Who is the king in the picture who wrote down the psalms? (King David)
- What happens when we learn God’s Word and keep it in our hearts? (God’s Word helps me.)
Say, “King David knew that if he learned God’s words and kept them close to his heart, they would always help him. God’s Word will always help us, too! What helps you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God’s Word helps me.”
