BIBLE STORY: Ten Lepers | Luke 17:11-19
This month we are learning, “I can give thanks to God.” We can always give thanks to God for everything He does and all He has given us.
We are learning the story, “Ten Lepers,” in Luke 17:11-19. As Jesus was traveling, He met ten lepers who asked Him to heal them. Jesus told them, “Go show yourselves to the priest” and as they were on their way, they were healed! Although all ten men were healed, only one man came back to thank Jesus for everything He had done. Just like the one man said thank you, we can show God we are thankful by giving thanks to Him, too! We can always be thankful for everything God does and all He has given us.
We made a Bible Story Meal Time Mat to help us remember that we can trust God. Place the Bible Story Meal Time Mat at the table where your toddler eats. Before each meal, point to the place mat and review the Bible story with your toddler:
- What happened when the lepers went on their way? (They were healed.)
- Why is the one man running back? (To thank Jesus for healing him.)
Ask, “Just like the one man went back to say thank you, can you give thanks to God, too?” Encourage your toddler to say, “Yes!” Say, “We can always give thanks to God! Who can give thanks to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can give thanks to God.”
