Bible Story: Luke 1:28-33, 46-48 | Mary’s Song
Main Point: I can have joy when I’m scared!
Memory Verse: “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Give thanks no matter what happens.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18a
No one likes making Christmas cookies more than the chefs at Sprinkle and Spice and Everything Nice bakery! But it’s not all candy canes and goody goody gumdrops for Chef Spice and his assistant, the Pastry Chef. See what they baked in the kitchen this past weekend!
Chef Spice learned he should never lose his joy when he is scared. Even though Mary was scared, she still had joy and praised God! After Chef Spice decided to have joy, he and the Pastry Chef baked up some delicious Christmas Tree cookies!
Sprinkle Family Recipe Book
Children received their own Sprinkle Family Recipe Book to keep the Cookie of the Day recipes collected each weekend. This weekend’s Cookie of the Day was the Christmas Tree Cookie. Collect all four recipes cards and use them to not only make delicious Christmas cookies, but also to make great Christmas memories with your child this holiday season!
Each weekend as we help the chefs in the kitchen we will learn how we can have joy through the story of Jesus’ birth. God’s Word says:
Always be joyful. (point to smiling face)
Never stop praying. (prayer hands)
Give thanks (point up)
no matter what happens. (spread arms wide)
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18a (NIrV)
We can have joy in all we do, whether we are baking Christmas cookies, cleaning our room, or serving others. Join us in helping your child learn this verse. Children can recite this verse on Christmas Eve to earn their own Chef Sprinkle chef’s hat.
