Lesson Overview

There’s only one person who could put together the perfect game show and that is Guy Handsome! We played along with Fernando, Tuttle Turtle, and Abee Queen as they answered questions, played games and earned points while learning lessons from the life of Jacob!

This weekend, we began a new series called The Big Question where children used the Bible story to figure out the answer to Guy Handsome’s big question!

This weekend’s BIG QUESTION was:

SHOULD I WAIT?

During this week’s episode of “Guy Handsome’s Big Questions,” contestants were being so impatient that Guy couldn’t continue with the show! He had to skip most of the questions as well as the yummy popcorn-eating contest at the end! Guy wanted the contestants to learn the answer to his BIG QUESTION about waiting, so he shared the Bible story of Esau and his younger brother, Jacob. Esau was so hungry he decided to trade his birthright for a bowl of Jacob’s stew. Because of Esau’s impatience, he gave up the land, animals, and money his family was going to give him; Esau should have been patient and made his own food! From our Bible story we learned “I Will Be Patient!” and the answer to the BIG QUESTION: yes, we should wait!

MEMORY VERSE
During The Big Question, children will be learning a new memory verse about how they can glorify God in everything they do! We began teaching children 1 Corinthians 10:31 this past weekend in Quest. Work with your child at home during dinner time or bed time to recite this verse. Children can recite it in Quest on the weekend of April 12/13 for a prize!

Below are the hand motions we are using each weekend to teach the children 1 Corinthians 10:31. Hand motions give children a visual cue to help remember the words.
