Bible Story: Daniel 3
Main Point: I can trust God!
Memory Verse: “Finally, let the Lord make you strong. Depend on his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor. Then you can remain strong against the devil’s evil plans.” Ephesians 6:10-11
Dear princes and princesses of the Royal Land,
This weekend I shared another story from my Storybook about Sir Pogo the Knight and Darrin the Daring Donkey on a quest for the fourth piece of the armor of God. Their search for the shield of faith led them to the Cave of Fear. Everyone was afraid to go into the Cave of Fear because they thought a troll was living inside. Sir Pogo tried to go into the cave, but didn’t have enough courage to stay in the cave long enough to find the armor.
Just when they were ready to give up on finding the shield, they received a message from the Queen about the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the Bible.
Shadrach Meshach and Abednego trusted God. The king made a rule that everyone was to worship the king, instead of worshipping God. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego heard this rule, they decided not to listen to the king and continue worshipping God. When the king heard this, he sent for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The king warned them he would throw them into the fiery furnace if they didn’t bow down and worship him. But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego decided to worship God only! When they were thrown into the fire, a miracle happened! None of the men were burned! Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, we can trust God no matter what!
After Sir Pogo learned he could trust God, just like Shadrach Meshach and Abednego, he decided to be brave and go in to the Cave of Fear to find the armor. While in the cave Sir Pogo learned the scary noises weren’t from a cave troll, but a man named George who was afraid to leave the cave! Since Sir Pogo trusted God to keep him safe, he found George and taught him to trust God and not be afraid of coming out of the cave!
When we put on the shield of faith, we follow what the Bible says and tell others about Jesus everywhere we go! By going in the Cave of Fear and helping George, Sir Pogo was wearing the shield of faith!
This week remember to wear the shield of faith by trusting God and obeying what the Bible says. And don’t forget – there are only four more weeks until the Royal Ball! It’s going to be so much fun celebrating with you!
Have a royal week,
The Queen

MEMORY VERSE
Join us in helping your child learn Ephesians 6:10-11! If your child comes back with this verse memorized, they will receive their own storybook from the Queen, filled with the adventures of Sir Pogo and Darrin the Daring Donkey.
Finally, let the Lord (point up)
make you strong. (make muscles)
Depend on his mighty power. (shout POWER and shoot fist in air)
Put on all of God’s armor. (hands on hips)
Then you (point out)
can remain strong (cup hands around mouth and repeat ‘strong’ three times)
against the devil’s evil plans. (tap fingers together like a villain)
Ephesians 6:10-11
Learning this verse helps us learn how to be better leaders, like those in the Bible stories we read each week. Practice your verse with your prince and princess, then ask him or her to Remember, Think, and Follow to review what we learned this weekend:
1. Remember: Who were the friends in our Bible story? (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego)
2. Think: When the king threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, what did they do? (They trusted God.)
3. Follow: Can you follow the example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and trust God? (yes)
