Bible Story Activity

WHAT YOU NEED: Bible (Use a children’s Bible if you have one.)

WHAT YOU SAY: “I love reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. Let’s read our Bible story together right now!”

WHAT YOU DO: Read “The Beginning” — Genesis 1. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

 

TODDLER ACTIVITIES

Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn that God made everything and God made us.

October 3:

Song Activity: God Made Me

WHAT YOU DO: 

-Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell.”

      God made me,
      God made me,
      God made everything we see,
      and God made me.

Continue the activity, but replace “me” with your toddler’s name when it appears in the song.

      God made (toddler’s name),
      God made
(toddler’s name),
      God made everything we see,
      and God made
(toddler’s name).

-Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested.
-After the activity, say, “Great job singing! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!” Then ask, “Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”

 

October 10:

Memory Verse Activity: Memory Freeze

WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Worship Playlist 

WHAT YOU DO:

-Say, Our memory verse helps us remember God made us so wonderfully!”

Lead your toddler in practicing Psalm 139:14a three times. Say the verse, line by line, encouraging your toddler to repeat and complete the actions after you.

      “Thank you (point up)
       for making (alternate fists on top of each other)
       me (point to self)
       so wonderfully… ” (give two thumbs up)
       Psalm 139:14a (open hands like a book)

-Then have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
-After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
-Lead them in saying the memory verse with the actions. Then turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds.

 

October 17:

Game Activity: God Made Us Wonderfully

WHAT YOU DO:

-Say, “God made everything — even you and me! He made us wonderfully. Let’s do a fun activity to learn more!”
-Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.

  • “God made hands to draw, write, and carry what we need. If God made you, wave your hands!” (Pause.)
  • God made eyes to see everything and everyone around us. If God made you, point to your eyes!” (Pause.)
  • “God made legs to walk, jump, and run. If God made you, use your legs to jump up and down!” (Pause.)
  • “God made ears to hear sounds around us, the things people say, and music to sing and dance to! If God made you, point to your ears! (Pause.)

-After the activity, say, “Remember, God made everything, including you and me! God made you, and He loves you so much! Who made everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made everything!” Then ask, “Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”

 

October 24:

Song Activity: God Made Us All

WHAT YOU DO:

-Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “London Bridge Is Falling Down.”

      God made me and He made you,
      He made you,
      He made you.
      God made me and He made you.
      God made us all.

-After the activity, say, “Great job singing! Who made you?” Encourage toddlers to say, “God made me!”

 

October 31:

Parade Activity: God Made It All

WHAT YOU DO:

-Say, “Let’s have a parade to help us remember God made us!”
-Lead your toddler in a parade around the room while shouting “Thank you, God, for making us!”
-Occasionally stop and read each prompt below. For each action, encourage them to repeat the corresponding phrase after you.

  • Hop — Thank you God for making our legs.
  • Point to your head — Thank you God for making our head.
  • Point to your ears — Thank you God for making our ears.
  • Point to your eyes — Thank you God for making our eyes.
  • Take big steps — Thank you God for making our feet.
  • Clap your hands — Thank you God for making our hands.

-Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested.
-After the activity, say, “Remember, God made you, and He loves you so much. Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”
