TODDLER ACTIVITIES
Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn God is always with us.
August 6:
Song Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Lead your toddler in singing to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
God is always with me,
with me, with me.
God is always with me,
because He loves me.
- Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is engaged.
- Say, “Wonderful job singing! Who is always with you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is always with me!”
August 13:
Memory Verse Activity:
WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Playlist
WHAT YOU DO:
- Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
- Play the Safari playlist and have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
- After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
- Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:
“I know (point to head)
the Lord (point up)
Is always with me.” (hug yourself)
Psalms 16:8 (open hands like a book) - After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
- After the activity, say, “Great job! Who is always with you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is always with me!”
August 20:
Song Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Say, “Let’s learn about some times when we can remember God is with us!”
- “Show me your sad face.” (Pause.) If you’re glad God is with you when you feel alone, give yourself a hug!”
- “Show me your tired face.” (Pause.) If you’re glad God is with you when you’ve been in the car a long time and you’re tired, pretend to drive a car!”
- “Show me your happy face.” (Pause.) If you’re glad God is with you when you’re having fun at the playground, show me your biggest smile!”
- “Show me your afraid face.” (Pause.) If you know God is with you and can help you be brave when you’re afraid of a thunderstorm, make a brave face!”
- Say, “Great job! Remember, God loves you and He is always with you. Who is always with you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is always with me!”
August 27:
Parade Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Lead your toddler in a parade around your home.
- As you walk, encourage your toddler to do the following:
- Hop
- Crawl
- Twirl
- Walk fast
- Walk slow
- Take big steps
- Take little steps
- Duck down
- Occasionally stop at different locations around the house and ask your toddler, “Is God with you in the (name of location)?” then say, “Yes, God is always with us!”
- After the activity, say, “Great job! It doesn’t matter where we go, God is always with us. He loves us so much! Who is always with you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God is always with me!”
