WHAT YOU NEED: Bible (Use a children’s Bible if you have one.)
WHAT YOU SAY: “I love reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. Let’s read our Bible story together right now!”
WHAT YOU DO: Read “The First People” — Genesis 2 from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
TODDLER ACTIVITIES
Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn Jesus loves everyone.
August 7:
Song Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell.”
God made me,
God made me,
God made everything we see,
and God made me.
- Continue the activity, but replace “me” with your toddler’s name when it appears in the song.
God made (toddler’s name),
God made (toddler’s name),
God made everything we see,
and God made (toddler’s name).
- Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested.
- After the activity, say, “Great job! Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”
August 14:
Memory Verse Activity: Memory Freeze
WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Playlist
WHAT YOU DO:
- Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
- Play the Safari playlist and have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
- After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
- Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:
“Thank you (point up)
for making me (point to self)
so wonderfully.” (give two thumbs-up)
Psalm 139:14a (open hands like a book)
- After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
August 21:
Response Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.
- “God made hands to draw, write, and carry what we need. If God made you, wave your hands!” (Pause.)
- “God made eyes to see everything and everyone around us. If God made you, point to your eyes!” (Pause.)
- “God made legs to walk, jump, and run. If God made you, use your legs to jump up and down!” (Pause.)
- “God made ears to hear sounds around us, the things people say, and music to sing and dance to! If God made you, point to your ears!” (Pause.)
- After the activity, say, “Remember, God made you, and He loves you so much! Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”
August 28:
Song Activity:
WHAT YOU DO:
- Say, “God made you wonderfully — from the top of your head to the tip of your toes!”
- As you sing, encourage your toddler to touch their head, shoulders, knees, toes, and then their eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.
- Lead your toddler in singing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.”
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, knees and toes.
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, knees and toes.
Eyes and ears and mouth and nose.
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, knees and toes.
- Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested.
- After the activity, say, “Great job singing! Who made you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God made me!”
