WHAT YOU NEED: Bible (Use a children’s Bible if you have one.) 

WHAT YOU SAY: “I love reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. Let’s read our Bible story together right now!”

TODDLER ACTIVITIES

Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn Jesus loves everyone.

September 4:

Song Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.”

           Pray, pray, pray to God,
           Pray to God today.
           Bow your head and close your eyes,
           and talk to God today.

  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!”

September 11: 

Memory Verse Activity: Memory Freeze

WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Playlist

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
  • Play the Safari playlist and have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:

          “Never give up (criss-cross hands in front of you)
          praying.” (put hands together like you’re praying)
          Colossians 4:2a (open hands like a book)

  • After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!”

September 18:

Response Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Read each prompt and encourage your toddler to respond.
    • “Show me your scared face! (Pause.) When you feel afraid, you can pray and ask God to help you be brave. God always hears your prayers.”
    • “Clap your hands! (Pause.) You can pray to God and thank Him for the things He gives you and everything He does for you. He hears you when you pray!”
    • “Rub your tummy! (Pause.) If someone you know is sick, you can pray for them and ask God to help them feel better. We can pray for everyone we know and God hears all of our prayers!”
    • “Give yourself a BIG hug. (Pause.) If you’re feeling lonely or sad, you can pray to God and ask Him to help comfort you. God is with you and He always hears your prayers!”
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!”

September 25:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Lead your toddler in singing the song below to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”

          We can always pray to God,
          Pray to God,
          Pray to God.
          We can always pray to God,
          Anytime and anywhere.

  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can pray to God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can pray to God!”
