November 7:
Song Activity: Always Give God Thanks
WHAT YOU DO:
–Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “The Mulberry Bush.”
We can always give God thanks,
Give God thanks, give God thanks.
We can always give God thanks,
For everything He does.
-Continue the activity for as long as your toddler is interested.
-After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can thank God for everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can thank God for everything!”
November 14:
Memory Verse Activity: Memory Freeze
WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Worship Playlist
WHAT YOU DO:
–Say, “Our memory verse helps us remember to give thanks to God for everything!”
–Lead your toddler in practicing Ephesians 5:20 three times. Say the verse, line by line, encouraging your toddler to repeat and complete the actions after you.
“Always (spread arms wide)
give thanks (move hand away from chin)
to God. ” (point up)
Ephesians 5:20 (open hands like a book)
-Then have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
-After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
-Lead them in saying the memory verse with the actions. Then turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds.
November 21:
Response Activity: Thank God For Everything
WHAT YOU DO:
–Say, “God has given us so many amazing things. We can always give thanks to Him! Let’s think about some things we can thank God for.”
-Read each prompt below and encourage your toddler to respond.
- “If you can thank God for all the yummy food you get to eat, pretend to eat your favorite snack!”
- “If you can thank God for all of your friends, give yourself a hug!”
- “If you can thank God for your clothes, point to your shirt!”
- “If you can thank God for toys, pretend you’re playing with your favorite toy!”
- “If you can thank God for your family, give me a hug!”
-After the activity, say, “Who can thank God for everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can thank God for everything!”
November 28:
Game Activity: I Spy
WHAT YOU DO:
-Say “I spy… ” and read each prompt below.
-Encourage your toddler to respond by finding it in the room. Then, continue to read the prompt.
- “I spy… a table we eat our meals on! Point to the table when you find it. (Pause.) We can thank God for all the yummy food and snacks we eat!”
- “I spy… a toy! Point to a toy in the room when you find it. (Pause.) We can thank God for the toys we get to play with.”
- “I spy… a [choose a color] shirt! Point to the [choose a color] shirt when you find it. (Pause.) We can thank God for everything, even the clothes we wear!”
- “I spy… someone in our family! Point to them when you find them. (Pause.) We can thank God for our family.”
- “I spy… the ceiling on our home! Point to it when you find it. (Pause.) We can thank God for the place we get to live in.
–After the activity, say, “Great job! Remember, we can thank God for everything! Who can thank God for everything?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can thank God for everything!”
