Bible Story Activity

WHAT YOU NEED: Bible (Use a children’s Bible if you have one.) 

WHAT YOU SAY: “I love reading the Bible and spending time with Jesus. Let’s read our Bible story together right now!”

WHAT YOU DO: Read “Noah’s Ark” — Genesis 6-7 from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

TODDLER ACTIVITIES

Complete the activities below with your toddler to help them learn Jesus loves everyone.

October 2:

Song Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Lead your toddler in singing the following to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”

          I can trust God every day,
          every day, every day.
          I can trust God every day,
         He’s always there for me.

  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can trust God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can trust God!”

October 9:

Memory Verse Activity:

WHAT YOU NEED: Safari Playlist

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Before the activity, practice saying the memory verse and doing the motions a few times.
  • Play the Safari playlist and have a dance party to help your toddler remember the memory verse.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with these motions:

          “Trust in the Lord (point up)
           with all (spread arms out wide)
           your heart.” (put both hands over your heart)
           Proverbs 3:5 (open hands like a book)

  • After saying the verse, turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds for as long as your toddler is interested.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! Who can trust God?” Encourage your toddler to say, “I can trust God!”

October 16:

Game Activity:

WHAT YOU DO: 

  • Say, “Let’s play ‘Follow the Leader’ and learn about trusting God!”
  • Read each prompt on the back page. Encourage your toddler to follow you in completing the movement. Then continue reading the prompt.
    • “Follow me and march around the room! (Pause.) We can trust God because He is always with us, everywhere we go.”
    • “Follow me and put your hands on your hips like you’re feeling brave! (Pause.) We can trust God even when we’re scared because He is more powerful than anything we’re afraid of.”
    • “Follow me and give yourself a big hug! (Pause.) We can trust God because He loves us no matter what.”
    • “Follow me and make a sad face! (Pause.) We can trust God even when we’re hurt because He can comfort us.”
    • “Follow me and pat your head! (Pause.) We can trust God because He knows what’s best for us.”
  • After the activity, say, “Remember, we can always trust God no matter w

  • Say, “Let’s learn about some times we can remember to trust God!”
  • Read each prompt on the back page. Encourage your toddler to follow you in completing the movement. Then continue reading the prompt.
    • “Show me your scared face. (Pause.) If it’s time for bed, but you’re afraid of the dark, remember you can trust God — He is bigger and stronger than anything you’re afraid of!”
    • “Let me see you wave like you’re pretending to wave to a friend. (Pause.) If your friends aren’t able to play and you feel alone, remember you can trust God — He will always be with you!”
    • “Pretend to brush your teeth like this. (Demonstrate and pause.) If you’re learning something new like brushing your teeth, remember you can trust God — He will always be there to help you!”
    • “Rub your tummy like you have a tummy ache. (Pause.) If you’re feeling sick, remember you can trust God — He will always be there to comfort you!”
    • “Give yourself a big hug! (Pause.) No matter what you do or how you feel, remember you can trust God — He loves you no matter what!”
