Choose joy no matter what’s going on. ● Acts 5:17-42
As a family, discuss a few questions together after your child watches this week’s Motion episode.
Question #1: What is joy? How is joy different from happiness?
Question #2: When are some times it’s easy to have joy? When are some times it’s hard to have joy?
Question #3: Read Acts 5:17-20. The apostles were having a hard time because many people were mad at them, but they still chose joy and shared about Jesus. What are some ways you can choose joy when you’re having a hard time?
Question #4: When you choose to have joy, what are some ways that can make a difference for the people around you?
Read the Bible — by yourself and with others. Try different translations. Set aside a special, quiet time to dive in.
Ask questions to help you understand — who’s the author, who are they writing to, and how does this part of the Bible point you toward Jesus?
Yak — share about what you’re learning and what God is showing you, especially with friends who don’t have a relationship with Jesus or want to learn more about Him.
This week:
Read: Romans 12:12 — Write down what the verse means to you!
Ask: How can you choose joy no matter what?
Yak: Share what you read with someone. What’s one way they remember to have joy in hard times?
