This Week in Motion :: Trust God even when you have to wait.

Trust God even when you have to wait.

● Genesis 15:1-6, 18:1-15, 21:1-7

As a family, discuss a few questions together after your child watches this week’s Motion episode.

Question #1: Trust is putting our confidence in someone we can depend on. What are some things or who are some people in your life you can depend on?

Question #2: What do you know about God that helps you depend on Him and trust Him?

Question #3: Let’s read Genesis 15:5. God told Abraham that his children, grandchildren, and everyone after that would be as many as the stars in the sky — but Abraham and Sarah had to wait years before they had their first child. How does that story encourage you to trust God even when you have to wait?

Question #4: What’s something you’re waiting on? What can you do to show God you trust Him while you’re waiting?

Read the Bible — by yourself and with others. Try different translations. Set aside a special, quiet time to dive in.
Ask questions to help you understand — who’s the author, who are they writing to, and how does this part of the Bible point you toward Jesus?
Yak — share about what you’re learning and what God is showing you, especially with friends who don’t have a relationship with Jesus or want to learn more about Him.

This week:

Read: Psalms 27:14 — Write down what the verse means to you!

Ask: When are some times it’s hard to wait on God?

Yak: Share what you read with someone. What’s one way they trust God when they have to wait?
