You can do what you should even when things seem impossible. ● 1 Samuel 16:1-13, 17:1-51
As a family, discuss a few questions together after your child watches this week’s Motion episode.
Question #1: David had to face a scary situation with Goliath! What are some scary situations people today might face?
Question #2: Let’s read 1 Samuel 17:32-33. Even King Saul thought it would be impossible for David to fight Goliath. What does it mean to show courage when we’re faced with a scary or impossible situation?
Question #3: We ALL face fears and scary situations. What are some ways you show courage each day?
Question #4: How can God help you have courage the next time you’re in a big situation that’s scary or seems impossible?
Read the Bible — by yourself and with others. Try different translations. Set aside a special, quiet time to dive in.
Ask questions to help you understand — who’s the author, who are they writing to, and how does this part of the Bible point you toward Jesus?
Yak — share about what you’re learning and what God is showing you, especially with friends who don’t have a relationship with Jesus or want to learn more about Him.
This week:
Read: Luke 18:27 — Write down what the verse means to you!
Ask: How can this verse remind you to do what you should even when things seem impossible?
Yak: Share what you read with someone. What’s something hard or impossible God has helped them do?
