This Week In Quest :: God made me to look for ways to help.

Main point: God made me to look for ways to help.
Bible story: Rebekah Helps ● Genesis 24:15-20

As a family, watch this week’s video and then discuss a few questions together.

  • Who was our Bible story about? (Rebekah, the man at the well)
  • Where did our Bible story take place? (a well)
  • What happened in the Bible story? (Rebekah went to the well for water. A man was also there with his camels. Rebekah looked for ways to help him.)
  • How did Rebekah help others at the well? (Rebekah gave water to the man and his camels.)
  • Rebekah  looked for ways to help. Did God make you to look for ways to help too? (yes)

Family Activity: Places to Help

WHAT YOU NEED: activity pages

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Before the Activity: Print off the activity pages and place them in four corners around the room.
  • During the Activity: Encourage your child to walk to each picture. At each picture, talk about the location and point out ways to help on the page. Allow your child to give examples of what they could do to help in each situation.

WHAT YOU SAY:

  • During the Activity: “Do you see the pictures around the room? I see a park! Let’s walk to the park. (Pause.) How can we help when we are at the park? (Pause.) Those are great ways to help! Let’s walk to the next place.” (Continue until you have visited each location.)
  • After the Activity: “There are so many places we go and so many ways we can help! Who made you to help others?” (God made me to help others.)
