This Week In Quest :: I can thank God for people who help me.

Main point: I can thank God for people who help me.
Bible story: Nehemiah Builds a Wall ● Nehemiah 1-6

As a family, watch this week’s video and then discuss a few questions together.

  • Who was today’s Bible story about? (Nehemiah, the people who helped him)
  • What happened in the Bible story? (Nehemiah wanted to fix the broken wall around the city of Jerusalem, but it was a big job. He didn’t do it alone, but had people who helped him!)
  • How did the people help Nehemiah? (They worked together to build the wall. Some people worked on different parts of the wall while others worked on the gate.)
  • Who are some people who help you? (family, friends, neighbors, community helpers, etc.)
  • God has given us so many good things we can thank Him for. Can you thank God for the people who help you? (yes)

Family Activity: God is Good

WHAT YOU NEED: activity page, scissors, crayons or markers

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Before the Activity: Print off the activity page and cut out each letter. Then give them to your child.
  • After the Activity: Encourage your child to color or decorate the letters any way they choose. After they finish, help your child put them in order to read “GOD IS GOOD!” Hang them on the wall or somewhere your child will see it.

WHAT YOU SAY:

  • During the Activity: “Decorate your letters any way you want. In a minute, I’ll help you put the letters in order to spell out a very important message. (Pause.)
Those are beautiful. Help me put them in the right order to see our special message.” (Help your child arrange the letters so they spell “God is Good.”)
  • After the Activity: “Look! Our special message says, ‘God is good!’ It’s true! God gives us people who help us. Isn’t that good? So good! Who is good?” (God is good.)
