Bible story: Water to Wine ● John 2:1-11

As a family, watch this week’s video and then discuss a few questions together. 

• Who was today’s Bible story about? (Jesus, His mother, Jesus’ disciples, the servants)
• What happened in the Bible story? (While Jesus was at a wedding, they ran out of wine (a fancy drink for adults). Jesus told the servants to fill up six jars with water and dip out a cup. When they did, the water had turned into wine! It was Jesus’ first miracle.)
• When Jesus turned the water into wine, how did the disciples feel? (amazed)
• Was turning water into wine something only Jesus could do? (Yes)
• Is Jesus amazing? (yes)

WHAT YOU DO: 

• During the Activity: Review the memory verse with the motions. Then lead your child to sing the verse to the tune of “If You’re Happy, and You Know It.” Repeat as time and interest allow.

WHAT YOU SAY: 

• During the Activity: “Let’s review our memory verse for this month. Say it with me!”

          ‘Everyone (arms out and around)
           who heard him (hands behind ears)
           was amazed,’ (hands like binoculars, open and shut)
           Luke 2:47 (Open hands like a book.)

           Great job! Now let’s sing it to the tune of ‘If You’re Happy, and You Know It.’ Listen to me first, then you can sing it                 with me.

           “Everyone who heard him was amazed. (Clap, clap.)
            Everyone who heard him was amazed. (Clap, clap.)
