Family Activity: Stop and Freeze
WHAT YOU NEED: Quest Worship Playlist
WHAT YOU DO:
- During the Activity: Play the music and dance with your child to the music. After about 30 seconds, pause the music and ask your child to stop and freeze. Repeat for as long as your child is interested.
- After the Activity: Talk about how they heard a Bible story about stopping and listening to someone special.
WHAT YOU SAY:
- During the Activity: “Let’s dance together! When you hear the music, start dancing. (Start the music.) Great dancing. (Pause music.) Everyone STOP AND FREEZE! (Pause.) Good job! (Start the music.) Great dancing. (Pause music.) Everyone STOP AND FREEZE! (Repeat as desired.) Fantastic dance moves!”
- After the Activity: “Watching you stop and freeze reminded me of our Bible story today. We heard a true story from the Bible about two sisters — one of them was named Mary and she stopped and listened to Jesus. Jesus told Mary and Martha that spending time with Him is most important and He wants to spend time with us too because He loves us. Who loves you?” (Jesus loves me.)
