Family Activity: Creation Charades

WHAT YOU NEED: activity pages

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Before the Activity: Print off the activity pages.
  • During the Activity: Hold up each picture and encourage your child to act out things that go with that picture.

WHAT YOU SAY:

  • Before the Activity:I’ll show you some pictures, and you can pretend to do something that goes with that picture. Are you ready?”
  • During the Activity: “What is this a picture of? (Pause.) Yes, it’s [daytime/ nighttime]. What is something you do during the [day/night]? (Pause.) Oh, that’s great. Let’s pretend to do that together. What is this picture? (Pause.) Yes, it’s [water/sky]. What is something you see in the [water/sky]? That’s fun. Let’s pretend to be that.” (Continue as long as there is interest.)
  • After the Activity: “We pretended to be things you see in the day and night and the water and sky. In today’s Bible story, we learned about who made all of those things… God! Who made everything?” (God made everything.)
