Weekend Wrap-Up

From all of us in eKidz, we wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! Spend time today thanking God for His gift, Jesus!

1st – 5th Grade

Monthly Virtue: Generosity – giving more than what is required
Monthly Bible Verse: “Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”  2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Bible Story: God gave more than what was required by giving us Jesus. :: John 3:16-18
Lesson Overview:

This month we have been learning that generosity is giving more than what is required and we studied the Christmas story to learn about people who were generous.

Mary, Joseph, and the wise men were all generous and gave more than what was required. This weekend we saw that God gave more than what was required when He gave us Jesus.

But will the message of God’s generosity be shared during the annual Christmas pageant? Since Oscar Spielman has taken over Dr. Oldman’s annual Christmas pageant, things have not gone as planned and the cast is less than enthusiastic. The rehearsals are over and it’s time for the pageant to begin … see what happens!

WEEKEND RESOURCE:  GodTime Card Week 4

3 years – Kindergarten

Bible Story: Luke 2:1-7 – Baby Jesus is born
Main Point: “Happy Birthday Jesus!”
Memory Verse: “God sent His son to be the Savior of the world” – 1 John 4:14
Lesson Overview:

It was our last broadcast on JOY FM where we were able to spread the good news of Christmas and celebrate Jesus’ birthday!  We heard Rudy’s ‘Story of the Day’ about Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem to have a baby named Jesus. We helped Rudy broadcast “Happy Birthday Jesus!” to everyone at the North Pole!

Ask your child these JOY FM listener questions:

  • Did Rudy Reindeer say we give presents because it’s Frosty the Snowman’s birthday or because it’s Jesus’ birthday? (Jesus’ birthday)
  • Did Rudy Reindeer say Jesus was born in a barn or a boat? (a barn)
  • Is Christmas Jesus’ birthday? (yes – Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus’ birthday)

6 weeks – 2 years

Monthly Focus: Jesus is the Greatest Gift!
Bible Story:  Luke 2:8-14
Weekend Activity: Jesus is the Greatest Gift coloring page

Pick one night this week and grab the Jesus is the Greatest Gift coloring page your child brought home from eKidz.  Review the Bible story with your child by reading the Bible story from Luke 2:8-14. After reading the story to your toddler, grab a baby doll and encourage your toddler to pretend the doll is Jesus. Wrap the doll in a blanket and sing “Happy Birthday Jesus.” Tell your child that God loves him or her so much He gave us the greatest gift – His son Jesus!
