#WorshipGames 2 : Episode 5

October/November Memory Verse: Romans 15:5-6, “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Series Virtue: Unity – working together to accomplish a goal

Bible Story: The Choosing of the Seven | Acts 6:1-7

Main Point: Unity is most powerful when each person uses their own gifts.

The competitors of The Worship Games 2 are back on the water and now face the tandem kayak race. Cramped in the same boat and dealing with the uncertainty of the water, it’ll take strong unity to make it through the event and not get eliminated. See what happens below!

Luke and Joe were unable to work together, finished last, and were eliminated. Mr. Larry pointed out that they may not have been using each other’s strengths to their advantage. He connected that to Acts 6, where the Apostles came to a point where they appointed a team of men to oversee the care of widows and orphans so that they could focus on preaching God’s Word. They recognized that their best contribution was preaching and that this other group of men could use their gifts to help the underprivileged.

The same principle applies to our lives. We need to know what our unique gifts are and make sure we’re using those for God’s glory. Talk with your child about the things that they enjoy and are good at and have some conversation with them about how they can use those to help others.
