Main point: Jesus is a friend to everyone.
Bible story: The Unloved Woman ● John 8:2-11
As a family, read “The Unloved Woman” (John 8:2-11) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
- What happened in the Bible story? (Some people brought the woman to Jesus. But Jesus didn’t punish the woman like the people wanted.)
- “Does Jesus love everyone?” (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
- Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! Jesus is the best friend ever because Jesus loves everyone!”
- Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, I think it is so cool how Jesus is a friend to everyone. Please help us be a good friend to everyone like Jesus.”
- Bath Time: During bath time, ask your child to make happy, sad, and afraid faces. Talk about how there was a woman in the Bible who was sad (make a sad face) because she had made some bad choices. She was afraid (make an afraid face) when some people were mean to her. But when she met Jesus and He was her friend, the woman was happy! (Make a happy face.)
- Drive Time: While on the go, take turns naming ways you can be a good friend. Talk about how Jesus is a good friend because He is kind, just like He was kind to a woman in the Bible who didn’t have any friends.
