Main point: I can hear from God.
Bible story: King Josiah ● 2 Chronicles 34
As a family, read “King Josiah” (2 Chronicles 34) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
- What happened in the Bible story? (While the workers cleaned God’s temple, a scroll was found with God’s words on it. King Josiah sent out an order for people to come and hear God’s Word.)
- “King Josiah knew that when we read God’s words, we can hear from God. Can you hear from God too?” (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
-
- Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, say: “Good morning, [child’s name]! Can I have a big hug to start the day? (Cuddle child.) I love you so much. And I know someone else who loves you. God! God will always love you.”
- Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, You want everyone to know that You love them. Please give us the courage to talk about how much You love people to our friends, family, and anyone else who needs to hear about You. We love You, God.”
- Bath Time: Add foam hearts to bath time and sing the following words to the tune of “Jingle Bells”, “God loves me! God loves me! God always loves me! God loves me! God loves me. God always loves me!
- Drive Time: While on the go, look for people you can tell, “God loves you.”
