We’re Learning… God gave us the Bible.
Bible Story: God Gave Us His Word ● Ephesians 4:32, Hebrews 13:16, and John 14:15
As a family, read “God Gave Us His Word” (Ephesians 4:32, Hebrews 13:16, and John 14:15) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.
Response Activity:
- Say, “God gave us the Bible! I’m going to say ‘The Bible Says’ and give a movement for you to do. Each one will tell us something we can learn in the Bible! Are you ready?”
- Read each prompt and encourage toddlers to respond.
- “The Bible says to love others! Give yourself a hug!”
- “The Bible says to give thanks. Clap your hands!”
- “The Bible says to tell the truth. Give two-thumbs up!”
- “The Bible says to be kind. Show me your biggest smile!!”
- After the activity, say, “Great job! God gave us the Bible. When we read it, we learn how He wants us to live. Who gave us the Bible?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God gave us the Bible!” Then lead your toddler in prayer: “Dear God, thank You for giving us the Bible Please help us remember to read Your Word so we always know how much You love us. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚
In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “What is the Bible?” by Valerie Carpenter. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE!
NAMES OF GOD
This year, our NextGen ministry is learning about the names of God. This month, we’re focusing on the name Jehovah Jireh. Jehovah Jireh means “The Lord Will Provide.” As you pray for your toddler this week, pray they’ll remember God loves them and is their provider.
Dear God, thank You for loving us. As my child grows up, I pray they’ll get to know you, Jehovah Jireh, and begin a personal relationship with you. Please help them become aware of how You love them and provide for them. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
