This Week In Safari Babies :: God helps me.

We’re Learning… God helps me.
Bible Story: The Mean Giant ● 1 Samuel 17:1-51

As a family, read “The Mean Giant” (1 Samuel 17:1-51) from a children’s Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, complete the activity together.

Memory Verse Activity:

Supplies Needed: music device, Safari Babies Worship Playlist

  • Say, “Let’s learn and practice a memory verse to help us remember God helps us!”
  • Lead your toddler in practicing the verse below with the motions.

 “God (point up)
  is my (point to self)

   helper.” (spread arms out wide)
Psalms 54:4a (open hands like a book)

  • Then play the Safari Babies Worship playlist and have a dance party.
  • After about 30 seconds, pause the music and encourage your toddler to stand very still or FREEZE.
  • Lead them in saying the memory verse with the actions. Then turn the music on again and repeat the activity every 30 seconds.
  • After the activity, say, “Great job! This verse helps us remember God is always there to help us! Who helps you?” Encourage your toddler to say, “God helps me!” Then lead your toddler in prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for being our helper! Please help us remember no matter what happens, You will always be here to help us. We love You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📚ADD TO YOUR LIBRARY 📚

In addition to reading stories from the Bible each Sunday, we also read a book together that reinforces what we’re learning. This month, we’re reading “The Story of David and Goliath” by Pia Imperial. If you’re looking for a faith-based book to add to your child’s library at home, you can learn more about this month’s book HERE
