Main point: I can trust God.
Bible story: Burning Bush ● Exodus 3:1-18, 6:11; Psalm 118:7
As a family, read “Burning Bush” (Exodus 3:1-18, 6:11; Psalm 118:7) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)
After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:
- What happened in the Bible story? (Pharaoh was being mean to God’s people, the Israelites. Moses left and became a shepherd. While Moses was watching his sheep, he saw something strange — a bush on fire that wasn’t burning up.)
- God was with Moses, and He told Moses not to worry. Moses could trust God. Can you trust God too? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:
-
- Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! It’s a new day to trust in the Lord with all our heart!”
- Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “Dear God, help (child’s name) and me trust You and do what You say like Moses did. We know You love us and will always know what is best for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
- Bath Time: Add orange bath foam/soap to bath time. Tell your child to separate the bubbles into balls and let them float on top of the water. Talk about how the bubbles look like little burning bushes, like the one God used to talk to Moses. Moses trusted that God’s got it and He did!
- Drive Time: While on the go, look for bushes. Ask, “What color are they? Are they big or small?” Then talk about how God used a burning bush to to get Moses’ attention so Moses would listen to God.
