This Week In Quest Preschool :: I can talk to God about anything.

Main point: I can talk to God about anything.
Bible story: King Hezekiah Prays to God ● Isaiah 37:14-20, 35; 38:1-6, 20

As a family, read “I can talk to God about anything.(Isaiah 37:14-20, 35; 38:1-6, 20) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (When King Hezekiah was worried about the safety of his city, he prayed and talked to God about it. God sent the prophet Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that God has heard Hezekiah’s prayer and will keep the city safe. When Hezekiah was very sick, he prayed. Isaiah returned to tell Hezekiah that God says Hezekiah will get better.)
  • King Hezekiah knew he could talk to God about anything because God’s got it. Can you talk to God about anything too? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

    • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! Let’s start the day talking to God. We can tell God anything, because we can talk to God about anything!” (Pray together.)
    • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and ask them what they want to talk to God about. Then pray, “Dear God, I’m so glad (child’s name) and I can talk to You about anything. You love us, and You just want us to talk to You. Today, we want to talk to You about… (say what your child wanted to talk to God about). We love You, God! In Jesus’ name, amen.”
    • Bath Time: Gather a few small items, like a toy animal, flower, and person. During bath time, line the items along the tub and cover them with a cup. Each time your child lifts a cup, say, “We can talk to God about (name of item). We can talk to God about anything!”
    • Drive Time: While on the go, talk about how we can talk to God about anything. Then, take turns thanking God for things you see.
