This Week In Quest Preschool :: God made me to create, think, and help.

Main point: God made me to create, think, and help.
Bible story: God Made Me in His Image ● Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 28:7, 104:24, 121:2; Proverbs 2:6; Acts 17:24

As a family, read “God Made Me in His Image” (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 28:7, 104:24, 121:2; Proverbs 2:6; Acts 17:24) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (God made everything and He made us. We are the most special thing God made because He made us to be like Him.)
  • Did God make us like Him by making us to create, think, and help? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

    • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, wonderful (child’s name)! Do you know why you’re wonderful? Because God made you in His wonderful image.”
    • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray: “God, You created everything. You know everything, and You help us when we need it. Thank You for making us in Your image. I pray we will show Your creativity, ability to think, and desire to help, and that we will see these things in others.”
    • Bath Time: Add bath crayons to bath time. Say: “God made you in His image. That means God made you creative, like Him. Let’s see what pictures you can create with these bath crayons.”
    • Drive Time: While on the go, talk about how God made people in His image. One way we can see this is how God made people to help others the way God helps others. Think together of ways you can help others.
