June series: Forgiveness can be tricky to understand and even harder to show in real life. When people hurt us, our first instinct may be to retaliate or reciprocate, but that’s not what God wants for us. We’re told to show kindness and compassion to others, and in doing so, we can experience real life.

Love remixes forgiveness.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, Paul teaches us how to live and love like Jesus. He talks about working together, treating others with kindness, and being slow to anger. Paul reminds us love is the most important thing and we should always try to love others the way God loves us.
Family Discussion Questions:
- Why do you think Paul said love is patient?
- How does treating others with love and kindness help us understand the importance of forgiveness?
- What does it mean to be slow to anger? And how can you pratice being slow to anger this week?
Engage in everyday moments together this week:
- Morning time: As your kid starts their day, share an example of how they’ve reflected the qualities in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. (e.g., patience, kindness, and forgiveness)
- Mealtime: At a meal this week, talk about ways you can practice being patient, kind, and loving to others.
- Drive Time: While on the go, ask your kid, “How have you shown patience, kindness, and forgiveness this week?”
- Bedtime: Pray for each other: “God, help us not just talk about love, but to live it out every day by being patient, kind, and forgiving.”
