Bible story: Jonah ● Jonah 1:1-3:10
As a family, watch this week’s video and then discuss a few questions together.
- Who was our Bible story about? (God, Jonah)
- What happened in the Bible story? (God told Jonah to go to Nineveh. Jonah didn’t want to go — he got onto a ship going away from Nineveh. When there was a big storm, he was thrown into the water and was swallowed by a big fish.)
- How many days did Jonah wait and pray in the fish’s belly? (three)
- After the fish coughed Jonah onto the sand, God told Jonah again to go to Nineveh. Did Jonah obey God this time? (yes)
- God knew what was best for Jonah and the people in Nineveh. Does God know what’s best for everyone? (yes)
Family Activity: Memory Verse Song
WHAT YOU DO:
- Before the Activity: Review the memory verse and motions with your child. Then sing the memory verse to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.”
- During the Activity: Talk about how we can trust that God knows what’s best for us because God knows everything!
