This Week In Quest Preschool :: I can have joy forever because Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Main point: I can have joy forever because Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Bible story: Heaven ● Revelation 21, 22:1-5; John 14:3

As a family, read “Heaven” (Revelation 21, 22:1-5; John 14:3) from the Bible. (CLICK HERE for children’s Bible recommendations.)

After reading the Bible story, discuss these questions together:

  • What happened in the Bible story? (Heaven will be a party that never ends, and Jesus is getting heaven ready for all of His friends. No more boo-boos, no more sickness, no more sadness. When we’re friends with Jesus, we’ll have joy forever!)
  • Can you have joy forever because Jesus wants to be your friend forever? (yes)

This week, engage in everyday moments to continue the conversation:

    • Morning Time: When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say, “Good morning, (child’s name)! Before we get up, let’s pray and thank Jesus for wanting to be our friend forever. Dear Jesus, thank You for wanting to be our friend forever. You give us joy!”
    • Cuddle Time: Cuddle with your child and pray, “God, thank You for sending Jesus to be our friend forever. Thank You that Heaven is a real place and Jesus is there now preparing it for everyone who believes in Him.”
    • Bath Time: Use bath crayons to draw sad faces with your child. Say, “Sometimes we feel sad because we have a boo-boo. But in Heaven, there will be no more boo-boos and no more sadness! In Heaven, Jesus will be our friend forever! Let’s erase the sad faces and draw happy faces, because Jesus gives us joy!”
Drive Time: While on the go, look for things that make you feel happy. Talk about why they make you feel happy and how you feel when they go away. Then talk about how the joy Jesus gives us never has to go away.
